The flagship journal, Iranian Studies, of the Association for Iranian Studies is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Editor.

The Deputy Editor assists the Editor-in-Chief in examining submitted manuscripts, overseeing the review process, and promoting the journal. On average, the Deputy Editor can expect to spend 5-7 hours per week fulfilling these responsibilities. 

The Deputy Editor receives, annually, an honorarium of $1500 USD, and another $1000 support for travel to the AIS biennial conference. The position is a four-year appointment and renewable for a second term. 

Applicants should be active and published scholars in one of the fields covered by the journal, and demonstrate ability to work with a diverse team of editors. The disciplinary field of Deputy Editor is open. Early-career scholars are encouraged to apply.
