The Sixteenth Century Society and Conference (SCSC) promotes research on the early modern period. The society welcomes scholars in history, art history, religion, history of science, musicology, dance history, and literary and cultural studies in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Please be aware that there may be a two- to three-day lag time between the time you join the Society and when you are able to register. When you register for the conference, be sure to enter the email address that is associated with your Sixteenth Century Society membership. Your membership will be validated automatically.

Please note that the Sixteenth Century Society is a not-for-profit scholarly organization that receives no governmental or institutional funding. Thus, participants or their sponsoring institutions or organizations will need to fund travel and lodging expenses in addition to the conference registration fee.
