PERFORMANCE: Burnt at the Stake, or The Whole of the Truth
Join us for Burnt at the Stake, or The Whole of the Truth in the Globe Theatre, as anonymous writers tell the tales that need to be told in a night of uncensored and fearless storytelling.
If you were free, what would you write? If no-one knew you’d said it, what would you say? If you could tell ‘the whole of the truth’ what would you tell?
This is the night for the writer to say what needs to be said, without fear of personal attack or public shame.
This is the night to liberate the writer, the visionary, the leaders of our culture to do their job.
This is the night for the writer to confront, question, stir and inspire.
This is the night for the writer to offer new views and old truths.
This is the night for us all to celebrate the power of story and imagination to make positive change.
This courageous evening is co-curated by Hannah Khalil (Writer, Hakawatis: Women of the Arabian Nights; The Fir Tree, Globe) and Morgan Lloyd-Malcolm (Writer, Emilia, Globe; Mum, Soho). Naeem Hayat (Associate Director, Henry V; Assistant Director, King Lear, Globe) and Indiana Lown-Collins (The Solid Life of Sugar Water, Orange Tree; Assistant Director, Julius Cesar, Globe) co-direct.
