Dr Thomas Matthew Vozar

Thomas Matthew Vozar studied Classics at Oberlin College and the University of Pennsylvania and earned his PhD in English at the University of Exeter. Currently an Excellence Strategy Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hamburg, he has published widely on early modern literary, cultural, and intellectual history, with particular interests in seventeenth-century learned culture, orientalism, and Renaissance drama. His first book, Milton, Longinus, and the Sublime in the Seventeenth Century, will be published by Oxford University Press in December 2023, and he is completing a second monograph on scholarship and politics in the English Revolution.
