Saarah Ahmed
Alumnus, MEMOs
Saarah is a history graduate currently undertaking her Masters (also in history) at Queen Mary. Saarah has a keen interest in the medieval Islamic world and has often found herself drifting towards any opportunities that will enlighten her - including MEMOs! In her undergrad Saarah examined debates surrounding an “Islamic reformation” post 9/11 and is currently exploring how the British public reacted to the Hamidian Massacres under Ottoman rule to understand how humanitarianism grew as a trope to legitimise intervention. Outside of her studies Saarah loves travelling and immersing herself in different cultures and history whilst trying various foods and activities with family and friends.
