Assistant Professor of History, University of Texas - Arlington
The Department of History and Geography in the College of Liberal Arts, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History specializing in the Ancient or Medieval Mediterranean World with expertise in Digital Humanities.
Required qualifications:
-Ph.D. in History or related field by Sept. 1, 2025
-Geographical focus on the Mediterranean World, including North Africa, the Middle East, and/or Europe
-Demonstrated effectives in, or a strong preparation for, teaching courses in Ancient and Medieval History
-Demonstrated expertise in theories and tools of Digital Humanities
Preferred qualifications:
-Willingness to contribute to the Department's current public-facing digital history projects or to develop new ones.
-Expertise in video game designed or a willingness to help support a current university initiative in the filed.
-Demonstrated track record of securing grants or other outside funding and the ability to contribute to departmental and college strengths.

The College of Liberal Arts is the largest in the University with twelve departments in the liberal arts, fine arts, humanities, and social sciences. It also houses the Disability Studies Program and the Gender, Women, and Sexuality Program, both of which offer minors and lively public-facing programming.
