
Assistant Professor, Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora, Memorial University of Newfoundland

The Department of History at Memorial University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the History of Race, Colonialism, and/or Diaspora, commencing 1 July 2024 (subject to final budgetary approval). Geographic area and temporal period are open. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable research record or provide evidence of the potential for research excellence; be expected to teach existing courses, as well as develop new survey and topical courses; and supervise honours and graduate students at the MA and PhD levels. Preference will be given to applicants who are Black or a person of colour as per approval granted to the Human Rights Commission pursuant to Section 8 of the Human Rights Act. Candidates will normally hold a PhD in History or relevant discipline from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution at the time of appointment.
