Digital Humanities with a literary specialization in Medieval Studies, Union College

The English Department at Union College invites applications for a visiting position for the academic year 2024-25. The possibility of renewal depends on funding. We seek an expert in the Digital Humanities with a literary specialization in Medieval Studies or a literary specialization prior to 1700. Applicants should have a Ph.D. by 1 September 2024, an established record of teaching excellence, and a strong research program.

The teaching load at Union College is six courses per year: two courses in each of three 10-week terms. The successful candidate will offer introductory English courses in digital studies, fiction, drama, poetry, and/or BIPOC literatures; intermediate-level electives in areas of specialization; and a section of the college’s first-year inquiry seminar. We encourage applicants whose courses will contribute to our General Education Curriculum, “Global Challenges and Social Justice.”

Compensation:

The annual salary range for this position is $67,000 - $69,000 commensurate with experience. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
