Early Career Teaching & Research Fellow (Creative Writing), University of Edinburgh

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures is looking to appoint an Early Career Teaching & Research Fellow in Creative Writing (English & Scottish Literature) to join its vibrant teaching and research community.

The opportunity:

The successful candidate will have experience in the design and delivery of teaching within the higher education sector, and the ability to deliver postgraduate courses for the MSc in Creative Writing (poetry and prose fiction), including supervisions.

The post holder will either have a doctorate in Creative Writing, English Literature or a relevant discipline, and/or be able to demonstrate an extensive track record of both creative writing publication and relevant teaching experience in higher education.

Your skills and attributes for success:

-PhD in Creative Writing, English Literature or a relevant field. Applicants without a PhD or equivalent qualification may be considered if they demonstrate an extensive track record of both creative writing publication and relevant teaching experience in higher education.

-Experience of delivering postgraduate course materials relating to both prose fiction and poetry. 

-Experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate supervision.

-Experience of teaching and assessment of student performance at postgraduate level.

-Commitment to high quality teaching and learning.
