Lecturer in Culture, Media & Creative Industries Education at King’s College London

11 February 2022

The Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries (CMCI) seeks to hire a Lecturer in Culture, Media & Creative Industries Education focusing on Memory, Museums and Heritage. This fixed-term 1 year Academic Education Pathway (AEP) post will contribute to teaching, engagement, and pastoral support across our BA Culture, Media & Creative Industries and three postgraduate programmes: Arts & Cultural Management MA; Cultural & Creative Industries MA and Global Media Industries MA.

We seek applicants who can contribute to our goals of delivering innovative, inclusive, and socially-engaged education, and the ongoing diversification of our curriculum. This will include working closely with colleagues, complementing existing strengths in the department, and facilitating educational innovation.

The successful post-holder will be adept at providing in person and online teaching and support that encourages student engagement and enables national and international links with the cultural memory studies academic community, museums and/or heritage sectors. They will also actively contribute towards promoting student-centred, research-based, co-creative, and highly interdisciplinary learning.

The successful candidate will either hold a PhD in Culture, Media & Creative Industries or a closely related discipline (or be very near to completion i.e. submitted but awaiting viva/defence), or they will have equivalent experience in a relevant professional or industry context. In either case, they will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge and understanding of a field of expertise relating to memory, museums and heritage. This post does not require independent research and the delivery of research outputs. However, the Department will support scholarship fitting to the Academic Education Pathway role which prioritises research on pedagogic areas.
