The English Literature, and Film and Visual Culture BA degree schemes both sit within the School of Culture & Communication which is part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. We are looking for an inspirational team-player who can contribute to the University and subject areas’ ambitions to be at the forefront of traditional and digitally-enhanced learning, helping to build on our excellent student experience record.
The successful candidate will have a strong teaching and research record across both disciplines. They will teach on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules including ‘Introduction to Visual Culture’ and ‘Visuality and Embodiment’ as well as various Literature modules depending on their expertise. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to design new modules that will be shared across both English Literature, and Film and Visual Culture BA degree schemes. They will undertake other teaching duties at the instruction of the Head of Department, including some postgraduate teaching. They will contribute to the pastoral care of students as an academic mentor and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
