The Department of History from the University of Sheffield are  looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to join one of the leading History departments in the UK in an open-ended position to develop our research, teaching and knowledge exchange in medieval history.

We will consider applications from candidates with research and teaching expertise in any aspect of medieval history within the period 500 CE to 1500 CE, but we may give precedence to those with strengths in our strategic priority areas. You will join a core team of medieval and ancient historians and participate in numerous thematic clusters and centres in the Department and across the University. In the first year, the individual will contribute to team-taught modules, before developing their own modules for subsequent years.
