The Department of English at the University of Southampton is looking to appoint a full-time permanent Lecturer in Seventeenth-Century Literature and Culture on an ERE Balanced Pathway.

The successful candidate will design and deliver new, attractive modules to expand the scope of the early modern component of the programme. They will contribute to existing undergraduate modules, both within and beyond their area of expertise. The successful candidate will also contribute to the design and delivery of relevant Masters modules, and carry out taught postgraduate supervision. They will provide academic and pastoral support to students as well as contribute to the efficient management and administration of the English Department.

The role includes research, publication and engagement activities and the successful candidate will be expected to develop, conduct and disseminate a programme of original research and maintain their professional development.
