The Department of History seeks to appoint a Lecturer specialising in the history of empire. The post is designed to support a project on the history of King’s College London and is tenable for 12 months full-time from 1 September 2023.  

The post-holder will help to research and coordinate ‘King’s Past’, a project on the history of King’s College London and its relationship to empire and other forms of power. You will help to develop and maintain a project website, liaising with King’s Digital Lab and the College archives. You will be responsible for teaching the module 5AAH9I01 Investigating the Colonial Past of King’s College London, as well as leading public engagement activities in this area. In addition, you will teach on the modules 4AAH0001 Historical Skills, Sources and Approaches and 5AAH0001/5AAH0002 History and Memory, as well as making contributions to the MA in World History and Cultures. You will also be expected to contribute to the administration and pastoral provision of the Department of History.
