Part-time Lecturer: "Britain and/in the Black Atlantic" at NYU London
NYU London is currently recruiting for a part-time lecturer to teach Britain and/in the Black Atlantic, one of a trio of courses offered simultaneously at NYU New York (The Americas and/in the Black Atlantic) and NYU Accra (Ghana and/in the Black Atlantic). These courses fall within the "Cultures and Contexts" section of the Core Curriculum of NYU's College of Arts and Science which provides a foundational academic experience of general education in the liberal arts for undergraduates at NYU.
Teaching commences in the 2021 autumn term; classes begin on 2 September and conclude on 14 December.
Lecturers should be prepared to teach in-person, but classes will run remotely if COVID-19 conditions dictate. NYU uses Zoom as its primary platform for online instruction.
Founded in 1831, New York University is the largest private university in the United States. The University has degree-granting campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai and operates 11 global academic centers and research programs in more than 25 countries. NYU London is an undergraduate study abroad program of exceptional quality with teaching strengths across the curriculum. Classes are held at the NYU London centre at 4-6 Bedford Square, WC1.
Applicants should have a PhD in the relevant field. It is expected that the post-holder will ideally have 2 to 3 years of experience teaching at the university level; experience teaching American undergraduates is helpful.
Application deadline: 8 March 2021
