The Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) is a private HE institution, delivering undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes in Muslim Chaplaincy, Islamic Studies, Islamic Education, Pastoral care, Sustainable development, and Islamic Economics and Finance.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to take on the role of Teaching Fellow in Islam and Education studies. The ideal candidate should hold a relevant PhD with teaching and research experience related to Education studies within a Muslim context.

Post Title: Teaching Fellow in Islam and Education Studies

Location: Markfield / London

Salary: Negotiable

Hours: Part Time

Contract Type: One year initially, with possibility of a permanent position

Main Role: To teach and provide academic support to students; demonstrate general academic skills; supervise students’ dissertations and research projects; contribute to the development of academic programmes and implementation of the Institute’s academic plans.

Summary of responsibilities:

- Teaching and related duties, including module leadership.

- Advance personal knowledge of the subject by conducting research and other original work in order to publish the results individually, or in collaboration with others.

- Provide academic support to students.

- Undertake appropriate administrative duties as required.

- Undertake other duties when required by the Line Manager.
