George Mason University Korea invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Global History position beginning Fall 2025.

About the Position

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities, in addition to teaching, include developing new courses and curriculum, engaging students in experiential learning, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. We are looking for someone to teach multiple sections of an introduction to Global History course (HIST  125) each  semester, as well as one HIST elective determined in conversation between the department, MK Academic Affairs, and the faculty member.

Required Qualifications: 

  • -A Ph.D. in World/Global History or a related field

  • -Demonstrated successful college experience teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • -Experience in teaching Global or World History at the university level

  • -Experience in designing and teaching across diverse course modalities

  • -The ability to teach independently in a small department with limited faculty

  • -The ability to develop and engage students in extracurricular activities

  • -Record of effective program building

  • -Record of research, publication and/or grant application and activity in relevant fields
