Önder Çakırtaş, an Associate Professor at Bingöl University, specializes in Modern and Contemporary British Drama and Literature, with a focus on Political, Minority, Ethnic, Race-Oriented, and Disability Theatre. He completed his PhD on Victorian Bernard Shaw and was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Roehampton in London. Currently authoring Staging Muslims in Britain (Routledge), he has published extensively, including Ten ve Kimlik: Çağdaş Siyahi İngiliz Tiyatrosu (2020) and Language, Power and Ideology in Political Writing (2019). He serves as founding editor of Essence & Critique: Journal of Literature and Drama Studies, and is involved with Performing Ethos: International Journal of Ethics in Theatre & Performance. Additionally, he founded the Turkish Society for Theatre Research in 2021. Çakırtaş teaches Renaissance Literature, Shakespeare, English Theatre, and Contemporary British Theatre, including an MA course on 20th Century British Literature.
